I just Purchased a 1995 XW2400 as a Backup unit. It is burning oil now so I think I want to replace the engine. The previous owner replaced the 22HP Kohler with a 25 Kohler. I would like to replace the 25 with another Kohler 25 but the tag with the spec and Model numbers is worn.
Can Anyone tell me which model and spec I should use in this application?
Thanks

I also have a 1995 XW2400, but it still has the original 22 HP Kohler on it. It's got over 3,800 hours and still running good. How many hours is on that one you have?
Just because the motor is smoking doesn't mean it is burning oil. It could have a leaky head gasket which will make them smoke. The original motor should of lasted at least 3,000 hours so this 25 can't have to many hours on it.
This is the engine you will need.
