Anyone finding something to do during the winter just to stay busy (besides snow)?

What winter? What snow?
Still mowing every day and doing clean-ups.
I'm ready for a break. It's time to fish. My friends left for the OBX last friday, and I'm still SCAG'n.

Lime my applications customers.
Build an 8x10 shed for the pool.
Install 300 sf of ceramic tile flooring in the kitchen (just completed).
Paint the shutters.
Install walkways and planting beds around the pool.

Play Command and Conquer for 4 and 5 hours at a time.

Since I'm not set-up for plowing this winter, I've already been contacted by one of my PROPERTY MGMT. companies I do work for. They asked if I would like to take care of some building maintenance for about 5 of the complex's they manage. So It looks like I may be emptying garbage cans, vacuuming foyers, changing lightbulbs and so on.....At least it will be some guaranteed income this winter (whenever it gets here--hit 68 degrees today!).

I'm putting in a ton of time here at the University of Minnesota working on my Chemical Engineering degree. Also spending 4-5 hours a day training in the pool and lifting wieghts, as I am on the Gopher's Swimming and Diving team. Looking to repeat as the Big Ten Champions again this year!

I have taken my time and gone threw my mowers and other equipment.

I spent a day cleaning and detailing the truck.

Sharpening endless sets of blades.

all the stuff I rush threw in the Spring usually.

Next week I have a few furniture refinish jobs to do.

Amazing how busy you can be doing nothing!!

This winter I have to do 3 things. They are:
1) get shop in tip top shape, and update equipment
2) do some tree work for money
3) build client list.

Friend of mine uses his LCO customer list for carpet cleaning jobs in the winter. Works solo with one carpet machine & makes a killing. Customer referrals doing carpets line him up more lawn jobs in the spring. Once a year service so it's perfect.

I am still mowing and mulching 4 days/wk. Work on my equip. some on slow days, and do occasional consulting work for my former employer now and then. I plan on starting on my wife's honey - do list after Christmas. That should keep me busy till mowing starts again.:)

Things haven't really even missed a beat here. It's just cooled down enough to get some rye growing and not have it parched in a week. Main thing is that the companies here are going through their budgeting process right now, so this is the time to pick up new accounts. Other than that still mowing.
