What does everyone think will happen next year with this recession lurking around us?

I think people will still need services preformed because they will be out working so hard to pay us.

Im not overly worried about the recession. May not be the greatest year but I think it will be fine. The grass grows regardless of the economy :)

I think that next year will be a bumper crop year for me. Just today I was asked to bid on a community assoc. greenways and was imformed that there would be a whole lot of properties available next year in the same neighborhood due to dissatisfaction with the current LCO.

One thing nice about living near DC is that most of the folks work for the government, defense contractors, or computer contractors. So far, I think next year for us will also be banner year.

In this area there is no recession. Here, an LCO can grow as fast as he wants to and never lack for work. We have been in the center of a massive building boom for the last 5 years or so. Only thing that might hurt us here in 2002 would be a bad drought that lasts all summer.:)

Assuming you work a lot in Oakville, you'll find that you're basically "recession-proof" in this business. Your clients have the means, and regardless of the economy the grass keeps growing and the snow keeps falling.

2002, with this wacky weather there will prolly be a lot of Mulching, replants, installs, re/overseeding, long grass first cut = homeowners mowers cant/dont want to cut. Complaints about seasional plowing contracts.

Recession souldnt have to much of an effect on us, except for more scrubs poping up and former scrubs going down.

Those that have the money will pay someone where they have more free time. You would think that if someone is out of work they would have the time to do their own mowing. Not always. I had a customer that was out of work practically all summer. He never did his own mowing even though he had two mowers. Must be working too cheap! :)
