Just wanted to let everyone know that Lesco just released a new series of brochures. The catalog is 14 pages in full color, it has 2 series, one with a cartoon guy and the other uses photos.
It has flyers for mowing, fertilizing, diseases, aeration, tree & shrub care, and more. Some packs are sold in packs of 100 for $7.95 and the tri-fold brochures are $170.00 for 1000.
The Lesco item number for the catalog is: 066776. Order one today!

Thanks, Ray. I'm going to have to get over there one of these days, soon. (fortunately, they're only about 15-20 minutes away) They always hand out what they call a "Northern Kit". For you, maybe it would be called a "Southern Kit". It is a packet that has samples of all their brochures, doorhangers, flyers, and all the other type stuff. I've gotta grab a bit more fertilizer (about a half pallet) to finish out this season, too. I thought I would have enough, but I've sold more new accounts, and want to give them their end of the season ap to have a jumpstart on next year.

Ray,
Those sound really GREAT. Only PROBLEM is that I have no Lesco dealer in my area. How can I get some of these things? I would also like to check out there other products. Any advice will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Mowman

Find out where the nearest Lesco is from you. You can do this by calling their 800 number. It's 1 800 321 5325. They are based out of 20005 Lake Road - Rocky River, Ohio 44116. Are you anywhere near there? ANYway, just give them a call, and I'm sure they would be MORE THAN HAPPY to get one of these kits out in the mail for you.:)

runner, do you have the address for Lesco in Flint, I go through there quite often and wouldn't mind stopping in and taking a look?
Heading to Indian River again this week, last week's trip was 1150 kms in 12 hours pulling a trailer.

Had my wife pick up the catalog today, and I've been looking through it. I'm thinking of buying some. With the cost of the brochures plus the customizing (logo/phone number) they might be a little rich for my blood. We'll see.
Thanks for the scoop Ray.
Take care, Bill Craig!

Is Kris your name? I couldn't remember. But anyway, I'm sorry for taking so long to answer this. The address for our Lesco is G-5165 S. Dort Hwy. Grand Blanc Twp. Mi. 48439. Their ph.# is 810.694.9100. It's on the east side of Dort Hwy., and is a pole barn looking building. No sign or anything in front. It just says Lesco at the top of the building. I hope this helps. I'll give you a pm in case this happens to get overlooked.

Spoke with the guys at the Lesco down the street today. I am a little hesitant to spend that amount of money for something that I haven't seen. The catalog offers a photo of the flier, but I can't read much of the wording. They have sample packs available! They aren't for sale, but you can borrow them for a few days to get a good look at them before making a decision. Takes about two days to get them in. I should get them saturday or monday.

I have a question about LESCO....
In our state we adopted THE TOUGHEST LAWS on waste derived fertilizer.
This means that "micro" nutrients may NOT be made of what you think.
Such as this link http://archives.seattletimes.nwsource.com/cgi-bin/texis/web/vortex/display?slug=fert&date=19980517&query=fear+in+the+fields+fertilizer
The gods of industry spread their waste THIN over America's fields in search of profit!
Read this: http://archives.seattletimes.nwsource.com/cgi-bin/texis/web/vortex/display?slug=fert&date=070397
Our standards are the toughest in the US and Canada also meets these standards.
MY QUESTION IS.....
How can the world's largest maker of SCU NOT sell in my state???
Do they not meet our standards?
They have NO products labeled for our state!
Makes you wonder...................
PS I guess you East Coast Guys don't worry about TOXIC WASTE!!!;)

Yeah, I just went over there yeserday, and they didn't have any of the Northern kits available. You may just want to call them, and he can probably get some in, though. I DID get the catalog, though, and he has alot of those brochures and stuff right in stock. He told me I can stay there all day and read the ALL if I liked, but I've already seen most of them from the kit. Nice stuff. Oh yeah, as far as the personalizing them, I sure if you played around with it a bit, you could PROBably put your own logo on it right off your printer. You'd just have to set up on test sheets where it was going to print.

Ray,
Are you going to use the Lesco brochures this year. What I've seen of them I like. I think they are going to cost me a ton though. Do you think they will bring in the business to justify the initial cost?
Thanks, Bill!

Not sure about the brochures yet. At $175 per 1000 I may stick with my own for a while.

Or get the catalog of them from Lesco and use the wording in your own brochure. If you look closely at all the samples you can make out the text. I know...I know...just don't use it verbatim. ;)
