Well, today was my annual road warrior assault delivering Christmas bags to my top customers. This year, they received a nice Yankee Candle, candle topper, a tin of butter cookies and a refrigerator magnet. All-in-all this year, we spent about $25.00 per customer. Not too bad considering the revenue each customer generates during the year. I got more hugs today than I usually get all year. What a hoot being Santa.

I think next year I'll decorate the trailer on my rounds.

The joy people get from receiving something and the thanks they feel help to keep the lowballers away. A Christmas tree and lights on the trailer would stick in everyones mind.:)

I think I was cutting a neighbor's lawn today when I heard the local fire dept. going around with an engine giving out candy canes to the little kids. They blast the horn and what not to let everyone know they are coming. I think they have one fire fighter dress up as santa too.

I mailed my cards today. What some of you guys are doing is great. That gift may very well be the reason you are where you are today. We all should try and give back more than we receive.

We too do the Santa on an Engine thing. They go through the neihborhoods blowing the siren and shooting floodlights in the air. It is nice to hear sirens and know somebody is not hurt or loosing their home.

Happy Holidays Everyone!:)

What I have done in the past is very easy to do and dosen't cost very much. I find some wall calendars at one of those 99cent stores. I can usally find some that normaly sell for close to $10.00 each for less than a dollar. They usally have some with flowers or outdoor type pictures on them. If you know that some type of calenders will work with some customers (dogs, cats, cars, etc.) get it for them. Then wrap the calender with some nice holiday paper attach a card and a bow. Write in the card a HANDWRITTEN personal message to them. Tell them how you have enjoied taking care of their HOME! and look forward to a another year of continuing buisness.
I hand deliver them the weekend before Christmas hoping to catch some at home to wish them a Happy Holiday in person. I think the personal deliverly makes them apperate it more. I usally get many thankyou's for the calenders. They never know how much I have spent on the calendars the "old thougths that count" idea here.

I think that you guys up in cold country, that don't come in contact with your customer much this time of year would go out of your way to make sure you are rembered for next season. In Florida I'm cutting most of my good yards evey week. Compention down here is hungery this time of year and will do anything for a new customer.
