I used to have an elderly ladies lawn that myself and one other guy could do in about five and a half minutes if we were hustling when we got out of the truck. I charged twenty-five dollars for this yard, but she always gave me thirty. I wish I still had this one but she past away this past year.

You wont belive this.

Got one I just picked up $40 for less than 500 sq/ft, all weed eater, subbed it out for $20 it's in St. Louis city, a small strip mall. One very small patch of grass (well weeds)

Came with some office building I aquired

3 min. 100 sq. ft with a big oak in the middle. We weed wack it if there's minimal growth. Owned by a slumloard with multiple props in an older established area of Toronto. About 15, 4-6 min props on that route.

I have a very small residential that's between 450-500sf. One swipe with the Lazer in the front, 1 down the side and 2 swipes 4 ft long in the back. Cutting time is less than 1 minute. Trim and quick edge. Gone in less than 5 minutes.

I have a small one that I charge $75.00 a month year round. It's been done in 7 minutes with 2 people. Average time is probably 11-12 minutes. My per hour rate on this yard is in the $100.00 range most months.ROTFLMAO

Just wish I had more of em.

My smallest...I dont know if you call it a yard, more like a strip infront of a dentist office...but anyways, it takes two passes(one up and back) of about 50 ft with the 21" Airens. We leave the bag on for this one and actually never even put gate down, just lift the 21" off(otherwise we would have to fire up the lazer to get it off). Start to finish, one guy, 4 min for $20. I could go for a bunch of these in a row!

8x10 on the reel...$35 (I edge it though...)

It's my favorite! But the account isn't just turf. There are plantings which make up the bulk of the contract.

A buddy of mine has an account that takes 2 guys with trimmers all of 5 minutes. And it is a $30.00 yard, if you can call that a yard

I said small lawns NOT small strips of grass that you over charge people for to mow with a 21 inchs mower or a weed whip.

The smallest lawn I cut is a 5X3 piece in front of my mechanic's shop, but do not charge him anything. He never charges me anything for an oil change.

The majority of my accounts average around 600sq.ft. of lawn. I make my money off them becuase they are all in a few block radius. With one helper, we do over 50 houses in a day. Average price is $27 a month, twice a month.

We have many lawns that size on one of our routes. What mowers are you using?

What's your version of a small lawn?

Mine is 25-30,000 sq/ft

Hey why not if they will pay it.

It's a duplex with a little less than 500 sqft. It's wide open with only one bed, so I can cut it with my ZTR. Alone it takes me about 11 minutes to mow, edge, trim, blow and ROLL! The owner takes care of all weeding of garden beds. I still charge her the $25 minimum, which she said is only $5 more than the neighborhood kid was charging with just mowing. I'd like to have 50 of these! You could do 5 or 6 in an hour.

We have to use 21" mowers because of issues of gate size. Also, due to settlement of grades, A lot of the pieces I cut are on average 4 inches above the sidewalks\driveways. Just wouldn't be praticle for me to use a bigger mower.

450 square feet, $20 per cut, mowed weekly.

Over Charge ....I'm not too familar with that !

After payroll taxes .....pay uncle sam .....make my payroll ....pay my insurance ....pay for other cost which happen even if no work .... put an amount back into the business ..... then give ourselves what's left .....I like to feel I deserve what I'm able to charge

What is a "small lawn" ??? .... here's one .....the front yard of each town home is the individual's "lawn" we just happen to mow all 116 of em ;->

Smallest lawn I had was last year. It was the cottage which was attached to another house that we mowed. I don't know if you want to count that? But anyways, the cottage had a run about 30 feet long (if that) and was about 15 feet deep. Tons of garbage because a group home was right across the road. Took barely any time to cut, and as far as trimming went just run around the outside with the trimmer.

My situation is very similar to John's, which makes sense seeing as how I live only about 100 miles south of him. ;)

My smallest yards are around 400 square feet and I quote them at $48/month for four cuts a month. I cut several at $40-$44 right now, but they are older quotes. Getting several of them together is the key, like John said.

Let's see... bi-weekly, 600 sf, I'd quote today ... $32/month. Looks like we're in the same ballpark, neighbor. :D
