Excellent. Thank goodness DC finally realized the true benefit of this site. The lack of representation of DC reps on this site has been one of the deturing factors for me, but hopefully DC service will be able to eliminate this concern of mine.

I have 33 hp generac that when I first crank it in the mornings it turns over like it is in a bind as if the starter is laboring to turn the engine but after the first start each day , it starts fine so what can the problem be. Thanks for any info

Welcome to Lawn Forums. There could be any number of reasons as to why your first start of the day is hard.Trying to diagnoss your problem without seeing & testing your unit would be like attempting brain surgury over the phone. I can only suggest that you have your local Dixie Chopper dealer check out and repair this for you.:)

i was having issues with it flooding when i would start it frist time each day.
so i tried to full choke WITHOUT giving any throttle. and she seems to start okay.
the dealer told me half throttle and choke to start but after cranking a few times i smell gas......
had it in the back yard yesterday and although she was not hot/warmed completely up she had been running for a while. shut down and loaded up a trailer of sticks/branches. about 30mins and she did not want to restart, i tried to choke and throttle and BAM!!!!! she backfired.....too much fuel.
if this keeps up she is going back to dealer.
i am sure i just need to 'learn' how to start her.
i'm used to the 30yr old WH's and half throttle and half choke if she's cold or cool......

The best way to start a generac when it is cold is to pull out the choke and no gas. Then when she fires push the choke back in and no gas. Let it warm up a 2nd and gradually start giving her gas. Generacs are cold natured but once she's warmed up hold on!

yep full choke and she fires right up, idles very low but gently ease into her and all is well....
i did shut her down a little to quick last night and she gave a slight POOF/pop,,,,might not have given her time to cool down..?

The poof and pop sound is very common, mine also does that almost every time. Its left over gas in the chamber.

I just purchased a new DC Model 3574D and I am reading the manuals. The Industrial Owner's Manual states (page 18) that the initial oil change should be performed at 5 hours and every 100 hours thereafter. The Yanmar Owner's Manual states (page 40) the initial oil change should be performed at 50 hours and every 250 hours therafter. Some clarification, please.

You should follow the Yanmar book, although more frequent oil changes won't hurt.:)
Thanks for your quick reply and clarification.
