I have four 2003 XF2600 efi and have developed a fuel pump problem on two in the same week. I checked all the electrical it turns out to be that the efi box is not sending a ground (grey wire) to the relay for the fuel pump. oh the pump does work when you first turn the key on, then pressures up but dosn't work after that. is it the efi box or something else, oxy senser ect. I have ten older DC with carbs and this a new problem for me. thanks

Your dealer should be able to plug it in to a laptop PC and diagnose the problem. :headscra:

I tried turning the key off and on ten times like I read in these forums. and they ran for about 45 min. I'll send them out and see? as for the dealer they dropped dixie and where I work it is very hard to get to deal with anyone let alone other dealers, so we are usually on our own. I have learned a lot that way

Any Kohler dealer should be able to help you.Did you try Dixie Choppers website to locate another dealer in your area?

The pump is acting normal. It should run for a few seconds and shut off... it does this after pressuring the system. If you have run it out of fuel it could be vapor locked, this is what I found on a unit just last week. Look at the rail, this is where the carb should be at the back of the engine, you will find a cap similar to a valve stem cap, take it off and push in on the valve stem after turning on the key. Be careful there should be gas shooting out.this will help pinpoint the problem. The engine has a self diagnostics check system. Turn the key on and off "three" times... then count the blnking light. If it blinks 6 and then 1.. it is saying everything is okay. Hope this helps......

Thanks txchopper. I am also looking into this, as I have no personal experience with the efi models.

Keep us up to date as to what you find, I've had 2 EFI's with the bosch fuel filters plugged up, that is the gray filter(kohler # 24 050 03 S) it has the Bosch number 0 450 905 002 printed on it with 2 arrows showing the fuel flow direction, it is after the fuel pump and a "finer" 7 michron filter then the Dixie black filter, which is a 10 michron filter. Also on the "blink code" thing, some control units will blick a (5 and 1 or 5-2 code) Kohler says these units are working fine, but need to be replaced as they were programed for factory testing and got out in the field. Any Kohler dealer can get you a replacement unit free of charge.
