I need some help in setting the Rpm's back up on my 25 h.p. Kawasaki. When it was new it would rev to 3850 now it's down to 3730-3750 I 've already replaced the fuel filter and both air filters. I also replaced the VTC oil along with both Drive filters 200 hours ago. I 've had alot of trouble with the throttle cable. I'm very familiar with it's operation, it's adjusted and the carb is wide open. I can roll on the governor and get 4000+ rpm's

I'd like to know if there's an adjustment so I can get back to 3850-3900...

Yes there is a screw to adjust your high speed limit. You may want to have your dealer adjust it for you.Good luck

It would save me alot of hassle if you coulsd tell me which screw to turn. My dealer is a little over an hour away I don't have any spare time as it's been wet here this spring. The motor is out of warranty so You're not going to burn anybody by telling me. I just want it back to 3800-3850 I'm having to cut alot slower than I used to because when the r's drop below 3550 the cut goes to hell....Thanks

First make sure your throttle cable is pulling the throttle all the way open. This is usually the problem. The high speed stop is on the linkage on the control plate behind the air filter. You have to look at it from underneath the unit.Have someone move the throttle control (with the engine off) and watch the linkage. You should be able to see the stop on the control. You may be able to readjust your RPMs by backing out the stop screw.I hope this helps. :)
