Dixie Service can you please tell me what part # I would need to take some of the slack out of my 99 26 hp diesel ? I have 1700 hours on it and it has a whole lot more slack in the steering than my 50 hp Dixie with 200 hrs on it. I've heard that there is a rebuild kit with bushings and springs. Thanks for any help on this.

No I am sorry there is no kit to rebuild your steering. You have to look up the individual parts from your owner's manual,or you can find the #s on Dixie Chopper's website.Mabye this would be a good time to convert to VTC.Good luck! :)

HI this is some thin that you can look at check where the lever control hooks on to the pump it could be that the arm is loose and the only thing holding it on is the roll pin if this is it knock out the roll pin install a new one and tighten the pinch bolt

Your steering levers(on the pumps) may indeed be loose.I have opened the gap with a hacksaw in a vise and tightened up the levers.Try this first before you spend money on new parts.Good luck! :)

Hey DC Service, I took it to my dealer and he replaced the pins back at the pumps and fixed it some, also I took your advice and had the VTC oil added and it is alot smoother in the turns. Thanks for the input. I highly recomend it.

Anyone running an older unit should upgrade to VTC.Your dealer should have (or can get within a short time) a VTC upgrade kit.It is relatively easy to install and your unit will operate much smoother.
