Flex deck on 72 " DC ?

I understand all DC 60" are manufactured as "Flex Deck ready". How about the 72" Dixies? Can the Flex Deck be mounted by drilling 4 holes in the deck, or does it require cutting and welding like the Flex Deck website shows in the installation instructions? Also, is the 150 lb counterweight required on the 72" 32 hp Generac powered models? Thanks.

Dixie Chopper does not reccomend putting a Flex-Deck on a 72"deck(although it can be done with enough experience and time).The 150 lb weight is not required(but reccomended)It will help on hills andKeep your front tires on the ground. :cool:

Yesterday I bought a demo model Flex Deck from the local DC dealer, with the intention of putting it on a new SP3200-72 as soon as I can afford it. Can you tell me why DC does not recommend the Flex Deck on 72s? The Flex Deck is is used on other brands of 72's and I have not read of any complaints.

It can be done but Dixie Chopper only reccomends putting it on a 60"deck.
I believe there may be some weight issues or trailer clearance problems.Good luck! :rolleyes:

I have been investigating this further, and most opinions are that it can be done. I looked at both a 60" and a 72" Extreme this morning. Can the 72" be ordered with the tall trim side spindle shaft ?

It can be done (swapped to the larger size),but your dealer would have to do the swap.He should have the part in stock.I think its a B121-L or B121-LL depending on if you are using wiz-mows.I believe the bolt comes with the Flex-Deck Installation Kit(comes with a NEW Flexdeck) Talk to your dealer about it. :confused: If it was a demo,perhaps he has the parts.Good luck!
