RE: engine to deck belt. On the triangular plate that holds the two idler wheels there is two nuts welded side by side that hold the idler wheel that the back of the belt runs over. What is the purpose of the two and why would you use one or the other?

The triangle plate can be used on different models,that is why there are 2 nuts welded to it.Make sure you use the same one or you will have belt problems :cool:

I have a 50 inch deck which hole should I use?

The same hole that you took the bolt out of so the pulleys are almost touching. :confused:
