Blade belt does not disengage

On a DCX1701, the blades won't disengage, they continue to spin until I kill the engine. Then I restart the engine to trailer the machine. Is the belt tension adjustable? This machine is on its 3rd season and I've never adjusted or replaced the belts.

Yes there is an adjustment,but you probably need to replace your Engine to deck belt.Part #9901B84.The belt is probably riding too low in the pulleys(worn out)not allowing the deck to stop.The spring on the blade engagement rod should measure 2" (compressed) with the engine off and the blades engaged.Good luck :)
