Dixie Chopper owners, I have just recently had a problem develop with my '01 26 hp EFI KOHLER Flatlander. With both gas cap vents open, the fuel will transfer from my left fuel tank to the right fuel tank. The real problem occurs if there isn't enough room to accomidate the additional fuel from the left tank into the right one. The excess fuel pumps out of the gas cap vent on the right side tank at a pretty good rate, making a mess & potential fire hazard. The fuel flow out of the cap vent can be stopped by closing off/bottoming out the right vent cap screw. Given this is a fuel injected Kohler, I don't know if fuel pump pressure is agrivating this, or if an in tank pump is at fault? Prior to this recent problem, the fuel was used equally from each tank. With the engine off, the fuel load will ballance out between the two tanks within minutes while the mower is sitting idle. Thanks in advance for any ideas?

You probably have some debris in your r/side tank.Your dealer can correct this
problem(it may be covered under warranty).I would just run off the left tank
until you can get your machine to a dealer to have it fixed.Good luck! :)

Check your return line is not plugged in the tank in question. The return fuel has to go someplace!!!

DCService, If the unit is an 01 model, how could it be covered under warranty?? Also, I have never heard of "debris" being covered under warranty. Being 4 years old, I am sure any debris , in the tank, could not possibly be introduced by the manufactor but rather from the end-user. Just wondering..... thanks.

Sorry txchopper I did not see the age of the unit :o .You are correct,no warranty covers debris.
