On my xt3000(really a xt3200) the blades keep spinning even when they are not engaged. I have replaced pulleys, belts, and the triangle piece. Also now the pulleys touch each other on the new triangle??? I guess I am just going to have to move the engine forward. Will this hurt the power or hydro responsiveness any?

Did you use OEM belts oe aftermarket? You should only have to move the engine to adjust the engine to tbox belt (the idler should be about 1"away from the frame).I have encountered this when either the wrong belt was installed,or the belt was stored in a cardboard sleeve, and in that case,
running with the blades engaged for a while (about 15-20 mins.) usually took
care of the problem.Just make sure the spring on your blade engagement rod measures 2" with the blades engaged. If this does not cure your problem, your dealer should be able to correct the problem.Good luck and let us know how you make out. :)

Make sure that the rods that keep the belt from jumping off the engine pulley when blades are disengaged on both sides of the engine pulley are adjusted properly. You would have had to swing them out of the way when you replaced the engine to deck belt. If they are not adjusted properly it can cause the belt to stay in contact with the pulley and keep the blades spinning. If your not sure how they should be place maybe Mr. Parrish can take a picture of his XT to show you.

Not to upstage you, but as a Chopper dealer, isn't the correct measurement for the spring with the new B85 belts 1.75 inches??? I believe the 2" figure was with the raw edged belt. correct me if i'm wrong???
