Took my 26.5 hp 60" dixie back to the dealer for a throttle cable install and the mechanic spotted a hose that goes into the intake that was dry rotted at both ends and in the middle. He told me that Generac would replace the motor probably and for me to bring it back out there in a week or so when I was going to be out of town and not using it. He put a throttle cable on and didn't route it the same as the old one, it looks like a universal cable that you just find a place for all the slack, I think I am goin to request that they run it back like it was and either cut it to length or get another cable, is that asking too much?? Also they left a few bolts loose that held the stainless fender on and one fell out, I found it while mowing and put it back on, and checked the rest of them and several were loose. Are you suppose to put a little lock tight on them to help hold?
Anyway the engine has got 89 hours on it and I wonder if I should press to have a new motor since it could have sucked dirt and trash in for who knows how long. I figure they will log it and do compression test on it and see what happens. I am going to talk to the owner and see what he wants to do about it. I just wish if they were having problems with this Generac they would have called and said they have a replacement hose for that model and chagned it before all this happened. Anyone else had this problem???
