dixie seats

love my choppers but the seat quality or lack there of seat quality still bothers me. for the dollar amount of the machine seems to me that there would be a better ( more durable) seat installed on these machines. (commercial grade)
i know im not the only one who has had this complaint. broken springs,frames armrest even though they are warranty items new, after warranty they break.

is there a seat dixie is researchng for this problem. that will last more than 2 years

ive seen a seat (in-passing) that had an adjustable weight knob (air???) on it unknown manufacture.

has dixie done any test with this type of seat?

i dont think i should have to go buy a better aftermarket seat for the best machine on the market it should come with it!!! or at least be available

At present there are only 3 seats available for your Dixie Chopper.the basic 64100 small seat(no arnrests,the standard 40100-w lowback(with black armrests)and the 64100 deluxe seat(with white armrests and lumbar support).Dixie Chopper has done extensive reasearch on seats,and these are the best choices.Perhaps a lighter operator or not jumping on the seat or slowing down on rough terrain would make your seats last longer? :)

Awww, DC Service, are you saying we're fat??? LOL Well, some of us are and I know my fat butt combined with rough terraine has taken their toll on my Dixie seats. That does it, I'm eating salad for lunch today.

DC Service, you have helped me many times, and I value your opinion greatly. But, the gentleman is correct. Dixie seats are useless. This has worked out very well.

After checking with R&D,the seat issue is being corrected.There will be an upgrade available for the older units,and the new units will have the upgraded seats already on them.Dixie Chopper is constantly improving the product,and can(and does) make running changes to improve the Dixie Chopper! :D

I will have answers on how far back the seat upgrade will go and what models it will fit on later on today.With the rising costs of producing a machine,(and still remaining competetive)compromises must be made.The R&D dept is very busy researching new and better ideas to make "The Worlds Fastest Lawnmower" the Worlds Best Lawnmower,(I think it already is :D )

The seat upgrade will fit everything except the 32" and 44" Silver Eagles going back to units made after Jan,2000.It should be available in about 90 days.I will post when it can be orderd from your local dealer. :)

I have a nabor that rebulds truck seats and when my seat springs brake he replaces the springs that brake with the ones that he uses on the truck seats.So far I have not broken any of the springs that he has put in. They are not a big of a curve as the ones that come out.Maby the ones that come out are too brittle.It doesn't have any weight restrictions on them that I can see.

What is dif. about the years.Is the bolt pattern not the same?

If you have the piano hinge on the seat,the new setup will not work. :sadly: The seat pan has to be changed along with the seat.I do not have any pics at this time,but will try to get some posted in the near future.The 2 Silver Eagles that this upgrade will not work on are too narrow.I will post MSRP & part #S as soon as they become available. :D
