I have a X5020. Can you tell me what year it was made? I bought it used at an auction and it's been a BLAST to operate. Plus, what's a good replacement filter for a BE-90?????? ROTFLMAO ROTFLMAO

The serial # is stamped in the frame on the left side where the back of the seat pan contacts the frame. The first 2 #S backwards are the year of mfg.The best replacement for your BE-90 would be an Amsoil BE-90,(available at your local dealer). You can also order an owners manual from your dealer,(or download one from DixieChopper.com).How many hours are on that unit?Is the motor original?I have not seen one of those in about 5 years! :)

The serial number is a silver sticker tag under the seat and it reads 390989. I guess it would be a 89?? It had a Kohler magmun 20hp and it sure seems to be the one it came with. The bolts don't look like they have ever been removed. The hour meter does'nt work but I'm going to replace that, only shows 1/10th of an hour. Last year I had to replace the right drive pump $920.00 and now i need to change both of the belts, drive and deck. That's why I asked about the filter, I heard they are about $50.00. I just wondered if someone else had something comparable for alittle less. The belt change is because it walks alitttle in park to the left.

Just purchased an xt3000 -72 with 50 hours, My first DC! :) I have looked in dixiechopper.com but do not find an operators manual, only parts manuals. Is the dealer my only source for the manual?

"The serial number is a silver sticker tag under the seat and it reads 390989. I guess it would be a 89??" - DaveS I take that to mean you have a '93 model per DC Service instructions.

AHHH!! ROTFLMAO I get it now, little slow on the uptake, just woke up then. A 93 model year, thanks.. But are there other filters from other manufacturers or does that BE-90 cost $50.00? Seems kinda high for a filter. But I'm sure I saw it on one of the other web sites from someone or other. It was an Amsoil be-90 for $49 and change. I don't mind spending for QUALITY but it seems that someone else would have picked up on this and started to make replacements also, cheaper.  Well I guess I'll wait and see the replies I hopefully get back.

The Amsoil BE-90 is the best bypass oil filter on the market.A regular Kohler oil filters down to about 10 microns.(Kohler says any particle smaller than that will not harm the engine) The Amsoil filter goes to 1 micron(it will filter out cigarette smoke). They are expensive, but a lot cheaper than a motor or short block! Thats one reason why Dixie Choppers last longer, the Amsoil will absolutely DOUBLE the useable life of your engine :).How many other brands are out there with the original motors? And the list goes on and on.......

The number on the silver tag and on the right side of frame are 350989 not 390989, read it wrong, but it was'nt built in 53 either... Oh! and about the right side not moving, the dealer wanted $1100.00 to replace the drive motor completly and also the hub. This is after the $92.00 to look at it which I could tell they never took the wheel off to see. Decided not to spent the money AGAIN and brought it back home. Looked at it yesterday and pulled hub off and found the key had broke and grooved the inner hub 1/4''. So I alumma welded the groove and regrooved the opposite side, replaced the the key and cut 4 acres of grass but this is after I found they had loosend the fittings on the left side pump and I know they were tight when I took it in. (JOB SECURITY) This is the biggest dealer in the area and by far the biggest rip off artists there are. But anyway, I'll wait for an answer and HAPPY FOURTH ROTFLMAO ROTFLMAO

The serial # is also stamped in the frame(on the left side, where the rear of the seat pan contacts the frame) you may have rubber padding (the # is under the rubber).I am sorry that you had a problem with your local dealer (not all dealers are like that, and you can always go to another dealer that will treat you better , and values your buisness :). I bet you would be treated differently if you bought a new unit from that dealer!Anyway,I am glad you found the problem!and good luck with your machine! and have a safe 4TH! :D
